When will my student's grades be updated?
I update my gradebook at least once a week. If your child has a missing assignment that has been submitted late, I will grade it as soon as I can. Work turned in on time gets graded before late work. If you are concerned about it, you can always send me an email to confirm something was turned in.
Does my student have a missing assignment?
If your student has an orange box next to an assigment on Aeries, yes they have a missing assignment. Missing assignments can be turned in anytime for full credit. Students are welcome to come ask me for any handouts or resources they need, but missing work needs to be done outside of class.
My student was absent. How can they find out what they missed?
Great question! Their first stop should always be the Daily Agenda tab on my website. I update this document daily, and it will say what we did that day and will note any due dates or homework. Assignments that are done online will be posted in Google Classroom. Assignments done on paper will be filed in Ms. Shaffer's classroom. Students can pick up a copy of paper assignments on their first day back. Students have the same number of days they were absent to make up work they missed. If your student gets stuck, they can email me or talk to me in person.
Can my student re-do an assignment they didn't score well on?
Yes. If your student is willing to re-do an assignment, I am willing to re-grade it. If the assignment is something major (like an essay) I usually require students submit a form detailing how thay plan to improve before they attempt this.
